2.1 Ministry.

There are numerous books on the development of ministry in the Christian church since the biblical period. Some such as Lockton have argued that the threefold ministry of bishops, priests and deacons can be justified on Jewish models found in the biblical period, whilst others such as Stevens reject both the Catholic and Protestant interpretation of the ordained priesthood and call for a theology of the people, for the people, by the people as the priesthood of all believers.
