The Church of England Readers who operate on a voluntary, part time basis as "lay ministers authorised by Canon with a teaching and preaching ministry in a pastoral context" fit into the bottom right hand sector of which is designated as "un-paid lay sector" and incorporates the vast range of roles adopted by the voluntary members of the laity.
